ARTISTRY BY ERIN
Erin Bender is an independent, multifaceted artist working with photography, mixed media, and graphic design. She’s known for her modern-grunge atmosphere and moody aesthetics, creating incredibly unique physical and digital pieces.
Erin is based in the Black Hills of South Dakota and aims to grow her skills for years to come as expands her artwork and collaborates with individuals and companies alike.
Together, Erin and I created a foundational brand identity that will help support her artistic direction and solidify a visual environment that reflects not only her work, but who she is.
art direction
From the start of our project together, Erin really wanted a logo and identity system that mirrored her artwork. She was very fond of classic gothic typography - bold and edgy - yet really admired the simplicity of minimalism.
The creative challenge here was to combine those two contrasting worlds into one. We also decided that we wanted to stray away from the typical ideas of what people think of when they think “art” – paint brushes, lots of colors, etc.
Our solution was to create a system that reflected Erin in her artwork and personality.
